It upholds operations around the globe and provides the ships, people, aircraft, and equipment to deliver the UKs defence policy. NCHQ supports all the Royal Navys activities, from front-line operations to personnel support and training; finance and governance; safety; equipment acquisition; programmes and planning; and Defence Engagement. The Management Reporting Role is an important role ensuring that support and accurate information is provided to the finance team and wider organisation. The Role supports the finance team to build and sustain the partnership between Finance and the Business by performing important month end activities, ensuring accuracy, and the delivery of financial reports. By developing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the business, the role ensures that financial reporting is accurately completed both within corporate reporting systems and supports decision making. In addition to the reporting aspects, this role supports the assistant finance business partner in the delivery of key elements of their role. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Providing constructive challenge, scrutiny, insight, and analysis : Supporting the assistant business partner, responsibility to designated budget holders in providing financial support and scrutiny throughout the annual financial cycle and investment decisions. Continuous improvement: Dedicating time to sharing best practice and ideas for refining standardised processes and procedures. Person specification Successful Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience. Essential criteria Good IT skills, good competency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, demonstrate an aptitude for working with a variety of reporting tools and learning new systems. Excellent attention to detail. Must be detail-oriented, able to spot errors and deliver high-quality work. Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
