Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a static Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our established supportive Cardiothoracic Therapy Team within UHCW NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward-thinking Physiotherapist, with Cardiothoracic experience and specialist acute respiratory skills gained within an acute NHS setting, to support our senior clinicians in delivering excellent patient care. You will be responsible for a complex clinical caseload which covers our critical care areas as well as the wards. Daily work will involve assessment and management of patients' respiratory and rehabilitation needs, from assessment through to discharge or transfer of care, working holistically with colleagues providing Critical Illness Rehabilitation and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. As a new Band 6 into role, you will have a 2 week supernumerary induction which supports your orientation to the team and wider hospital. The post holder will have responsibility for development of others, therefore will be required to have previous experience in student and staff supervision and training. You will be working alongside an established Therapy Team to develop more advanced clinical, leadership, teaching, service development and research skills through close links with the Centre for Care Excellence. You will have access to regular supervision and training with opportunities for growth, to support you in your learning and professional development. Main duties of the job The post holder will be required to work core hours across an extended hours service seven days a week, contributing to weekends and bank holidays. You will also be expected to participate in the respiratory on call rota. Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training and annual appraisal. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice & service development within area. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Physiotherapy service. Take a lead for information management to ensure high quality data which is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.
