Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 28 year old male, living in the area of Pontypridd. My interests include photography, gaming, fashion, cosplay and modelling. I'm a very independent and highly private person. I enjoy cooking and am quite fond of Italian food.
I am passionate about exercising, trying to keep fit and maintaining a healthy diet.
I have a long distance relationship with my girlfriend who I have been with for 4 years. This relationship is very important to me and my goal in the not too distant future is for her to move in with me.
I am currently mute/non verbal as a result of severe social anxiety and complex PTSD over the course of many years and will still be for the long term, but I hope to be able to become verbal one day.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support me with my short term and long term goals whilst promoting my independence.
This would initially be building trust and forming a relationship with me where I would then feel confident to work towards my long-term goals and gradually build confidence to visit public places.
Focus on emotional regulation strategies like grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and journaling.
PLACE OF WORK
At my home address
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week, 1 hour per day 3 o’clock onwards.
PA needs to have some flexibility
RATE OF PAY
£14.00 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Organised & Detail-Oriented – Helping me with tasks without adding stress.
Encouraging, Not Overbearing – Motivating me gently without pushing too hard.
Respect for Independence – Supporting me rather than control, allowing autonomy.
Supporting me to feel safe and secure
Assistance with anxiety management, with social interactions (e.g. going outside, handling mail, putting out bins
Tenancy Support to assist with the admin of moving and initial adjustments
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Tech-Savvy – Familiar with communication apps, text-to-speech software, or assistive devices
Empathetic & Supportive – Understands emotional struggles without being dismissive.
Non-Judgmental & Respectful – Respects boundaries, trauma history, and personal choices.
Calm & Reassuring Presence – Helps reduce anxiety by staying composed in stressful situations.
Flexible & Adaptable – Adjusts approach based on mood and mental health needs
Someone who has experience with mental wellbeing and anxiety.
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
