Great opportunity to work as a Quality Assurance for our client - One of the largest food production companies in the UK, specializing in pork and prepared foods.
Staffline is recruiting a QA in Bodmin.
The rate of pay is £12.82 per hour. Overtime is available and is paid at £19.23 per hour.
This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday, and the hours of work are:
- 7am to 4:30pm
Your Time at Work
As a Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for:
1. Supervising the QA function on-site
2. Task coordination to ensure that all required tasks of the factory QA function are delivered OTIF
3. Assist the site's internal audit program to the timescales and the required standard
4. Assist in complaints and site-generated non-conformance management
5. The site calibration schedule ensures calibrations are completed to the required schedule
6. Regular reviews of the technical hub to ensure that all information related to the QA function is acknowledged and distributed accordingly across the Bodmin site
7. Assist in the filing of technical factory documentation ensuring that they are filed to the required standard
8. Co-ordination of internal specifications, including on-line specifications, intake specifications and QAS
9. Being a key stakeholder in any visits or audits from customers or other external agencies
10. Leading the on-site NPD function
11. Assist in on-site trials to ensure that they are completed OTIF to the required standard
12. Assist in checking all required samples that may be required for trials
13. Working with production teams to ensure trials are conducted to the required quality standard
14. Assist in ensuring the right materials are on site for trials and subsequent first productions
15. Assist in coordinating the despatch of trial samples to the customer
16. Assist in taste panels ensuring that they are completed to schedule for all new launches and for ongoing monitoring of product quality

1. Actively promote and deliver good health and safety working conditions and practice
2. Any other task as is reasonably requested to support the effective operation of the site

Skills:
1. Standing and walking - You may need to be on your feet for long periods while inspecting production lines.
2. Lifting and carrying - Light to moderate lifting (e.g., samples, testing equipment, or documents), typically 5-10 kg.
3. Repetitive movements - Handling samples, using testing equipment, or writing reports can require fine motor skills.
4. Working in different environments - QA staff often move between offices, production areas, and sometimes cold storage units.
5. Wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) - Gloves, lab coats, safety shoes, hairnets, and sometimes masks may be required.
6. Show good attention to detail & manual dexterity - Precise inspection and handling of food products, labels, and packaging.
7. Potential exposure to noise & smells - Factory environments can be noisy, and food production areas may have strong smells.
8. Good vision (for detailed inspections of labels, ingredients, or potential defects).
9. Strong focus & endurance (QA roles require sustained attention to spot inconsistencies).

You will have experience in a QA-related function:
1. Experience in internal audits
2. Organised and able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
3. Excellent communication skills

6. Ability to collate and process information rapidly and make agile decisions relating to food safety, legality, and quality within the remit
7. Demonstrate exceptional GMP standards to achieve high-quality products
8. RCA skills
Qualifications needed:
1. Holding or working towards Level 3 Food Safety
2. Holding or working towards level 3 HACCP
3. Minimum 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science
4. Desirable - Food safety degree or 3 years experience in the food industry
5. Desirable - Lead auditor
6. Desirable - Qualification in Microbiology
