Due to the internal promotion of the current postholder to Curriculum Leader Science, the governors seek to appoint an outstanding and experienced teacher who will relish supporting the Curriculum Leader in leading the Science department. As Assistant Curriculum Leader Science, you will support the leading, development and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum which enables students to develop their creative, practical and technical skills and achieve the highest level of student progress and attainment. If you have the following knowledge, skills and experience, we would love to hear from you: A passion for teaching Science with a confident and creative approach getting the best out of students. Experience of raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment. Experience of leading a team and/or developing others. Experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning through the development of schemes of work and high-quality resources. Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy. Be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent. The ability to support the Curriculum Leader in providing high quality leadership of Science, helping to ensure excellent outcomes for all students The ability to support the leadership of the curriculum so that all students receive a rich and challenging experience of Science A track record of teaching Science within the curriculum Ability to teach Science up to Key Stage 4 Be an effective classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and committed to ensuring all students succeed and fulfil their potential Demonstrate a range of innovative teaching and learning strategies You will have a genuine passion for and a belief in the potential of every student and a deep commitment to St Cuthbert’s vision and mission of providing an excellent education to every student, regardless of background together with a commitment to regular and on-going professional development and training to establish outstanding classroom practice.
