Your Role
As a Marine Port Control Shift Manager within the Marine Operations Department, you will oversee the delivery of Vessel Traffic Services and Local Port Service within the Group Port Control Centre in the Maritime Centre, Liverpool. This includes personnel, equipment and procedural standards.
In this role you will operate RADAR, AIS, CCTV and VHF communication equipment in accordance with IALA and MCA standards, port specific procedures and local legislation.
You will follow a structured internal training package to achieve a local knowledge endorsement enabling you to operate across all port within our Group.
You will provide first line response support to marine related incidents and accident, working within an assigned watch, on a shift pattern basis. Supporting Vessel traffic services, Local Port Services and Dockmasters.
What you'll bring
You will ideally have experience as a Vessel Traffic Service Officer, ideally with management experience, or hold an Officer of the Watch certificate of competency. You will have experience of engaging other team members, to support in delivering the teams priorities and goals.
You will have a track record of excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally through written and verbal communications.
You will demonstrate experience of prioritising tasks on a daily basis, in a fast-moving environment, meeting deadlines and delivering goals. You will have experience of problem solving, working through solutions to achieve the best possible solutions.
You will have IT skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
You will have a V103 VTS Certificate of Competence.
