EY’s market leading Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) team provides Technology & Operations advice to corporate and private equity firms who intend to acquire, divest or restructure businesses to improve their value. The team comprises advisors with specialist commercial, operations, technical and deal / transaction experience from industry, advisory and audit backgrounds.
The opportunity
We are seeking to further expand our team with technology consultants who work across a range of sectors that include Private Equity, Digital, Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT). As a Senior Executive in our team, you’ll advise clients across all sectors, supporting key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions using your intellectual guile and enthusiasm to apply your technical skills across the M&A transaction lifecycle; including value creation, pre-deal diligence, portfolio review and corporate carve-outs & integrations.
Your key responsibilities
* Assist in aspects of business origination, including pitches and presentations, and attending meetings with clients to help sell work and work in a transaction environment operating under tight M&A timeframes and demands.
* Familiarity with working in a large-scale consulting environment or industry role.
* Utilize prior technology sector knowledge and work on projects across digital transformation, technology transformation, AI and big data.
Skills and attributes for success
* Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance EBITDA and company performance and drive value creation.
* Financial Analysis and Modelling: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and build robust financial models to support investment decisions and value creation strategies.
* Operational and Technology Led Improvement: Identify and execute operational and technology improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
* Performance Monitoring: Experience in monitoring and designing measures to monitor company performance against key metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Due Diligence Mindset: Assess the value creation potential of new investment opportunities.
* Exit Strategy Planning: Develop and execute exit strategies to maximize returns on investment.
* Innovation and Transformation: Drive innovation and transformational change within companies.
* Change Management: Manage and support change initiatives to ensure successful implementation and adoption of value creation strategies.
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and insights to inform value creation strategies.
* Develop experience of a range of different type of engagements, including value creation, pre-deal, post-deal and restructuring.
* Lead blended project teams and meetings with senior client stakeholders.
* Contribute to management of each engagement, including commercials and risk.
* Support development of junior team members and recruitment responsibilities.
* Familiarity with working in a large-scale consulting environment or industry role.
To qualify for the role, you must have
* Proven experience and ability to communicate with clarity and impact to senior stakeholders.
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with company management teams and other stakeholders.
* Strong written skills and experience of producing and reviewing high calibre reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership.
* A track record of successful project delivery in corporate businesses.
* Broad range of IT experience including infrastructure, applications, databases and networks.
* Professional services / consulting experience within Transactions.
* Deep understanding of one or more core aspects of a technology or technology-oriented function.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience in building strong working relationships with senior clients.
* Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
* Experience in supporting sales and business development processes.
