Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SEND Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for education and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, guiding students in their academic pursuits, and contributing to the overall development of the curriculum. This role requires excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and leadership qualities to inspire and educate students effectively.
This is a special needs college for students with varied levels of autism. Your role will include preparing post 16 students for adulthood and how to be independant. Previous SEND experience is essential along with a teaching qualification.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions that enhance student understanding of the subject matter.
* Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
* Provide academic support and guidance to students, addressing their individual learning needs.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and contribute to departmental initiatives.
* Stay current with developments in your field to ensure that course content remains relevant and up-to-date.
* Participate in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and professional development activities.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and feedback.
Requirements
* A relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in the subject area.
* Proven SEND experience in teaching or lecturing at a higher education level is desirable.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines efficiently.
* Leadership qualities that foster a positive learning environment and encourage student engagement.
* Proficiency in IT tools and platforms for teaching purposes.
* Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are advantageous.
