We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Director to join our team within Vistry Works, at our Bardon office in Coalville, Leicestershire with travel to our Warrington office. As our Finance Director, you will have ownership of all financial planning, analysis, control and reporting for Vistry Works, working alongside other department heads and directors to ensure the objectives contained within the business’s budgets/forecasts are met in a cost-effective manner.Vistry Works is an instrumental part of the Vistry Group’s strategy which allows us to deliver modern methods of construction at scale and build high quality new homes faster, more economically and in a more environmentally friendly way. Act as the financial conscience of the business supporting the Operations Director in driving performance, appraising proposals and opportunities and ensuring full awareness of all key financial matters. Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated financial analysis in line with agreed timescales and content. Direct and review the budgeting and forecasting process for the business, including detailed reviews with members of the Vistry Works board. Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts. Take responsibility for all aspects of cash management within the business, including accurate reporting on cash inflows and outflows on a weekly basis and ensuring that all supplier invoices are paid, and outstanding debtors are received, within the required timescales. Develop, control, and implement strategies which enable effective financial control and management over the business and involvement in the improvement of financial processes across the Group. Lead on capital investment appraisals and post investment appraisals, ensuring benefits are realised in line with the underlying investment cases. Prepare regular profit forecasts taking information from manufacturing and construction as to what will be achieved. Control general overheads, including the process of order and invoice authorisation within the business. Oversee the Vistry Works IT team and drive any required system developments, working in partnership with the Group IT function. On an annual cycle, project manage a strategic review of the Vistry Works’ three-year strategic plan looking at both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the plan. Provide clear leadership, direction and motivation of staff within the finance department to ensure that work programmes are fulfilled in accordance with the business’s budgets/forecasts. Contribute effectively to the running of the business through your membership of the Vistry Works board of directors. Attend business-level Management Team/Board meetings to advise on financial and commercial issues. Ensure that the team is aware of its progress towards achieving the business’s financial targets and, if practicable, influence accordingly. Make a positive contribution towards the planned expansion of the business and the setting of appropriate budgets and forecasts. Key linkage to the Division with significant interaction with Divisional Chair and Divisional Finance Director.
