Start Date: 1st September 2025
St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School is seeking to appoint an outstanding French teacher. Our MFL department aims to equip our pupils and students for the future and inspire a love of language learning. We deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum, ranging from studying transactional language to the more political topics of immigration and ethics, all of which is underpinned by first-class teaching. French and Mandarin are currently offered to the pupils and other languages to enrich this offer would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop within a supportive team of colleagues.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about the MFL curriculum and how this can be taught in an inspiring way to maximise outcomes, whilst both instilling and developing a love for the subject. We are looking for someone who can enable the boys to see the relevance of language learning to their lives and modern concerns, someone who will inspire our pupils and spark their passion for the subject. Above all, we are looking for someone who will help our boys become better men and show them the difference that being able to speak another language can make in the world. The ability to extend pupils’ engagement beyond the school day, through co-curricular activities would be an advantage.
This is an opportunity to join an aspirational department in an all-boys Catholic School that has enjoyed a reputation as a centre of educational excellence for over one hundred years. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers or early career entrants as well as experienced MFL teachers looking for a new challenge. The ability to offer an additional language will be an advantage.
Application forms and further information are available by following the link on our website for submission by 9.00am Thursday 3rd April 2025.
