Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced minor illness nurse to join our urgent c are team on a part-time basis, for 20 hours per week, 0800-1830 Monday to Friday and the salary for these hours is £26,000. The practice nursing team forms part of our integrated nursing team working alongside our community nursing team, community matrons, urgent care team and specialist nursing team. The main responsibilities of the role include: Working closely with GP colleagues, the minor illness nurse will deliver minor illness clinics. Providing assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients. Long term condition case management. Dealing with minor illness and injury. Diagnosing, prescribing and referring. Please see the attached job description for further details. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: A relevant nursing degree. Current NMC registration with an active PIN. Run autonomous minor illness clinics. Experience and competence in managing a general practice caseload. Prescribe products to meet the needs of patients within the Practice population. Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice. Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
