Technical Sales Engineer
Salary: GBP35K-GBP42K Dependent on experience
Working Hours: 8.30am-17.00 with 1 hour lunch
My client in Rushden is looking for an Internal Technical Support Engineer to join their team, providing advice and product support to valued customers. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone with a technical background and/or in-depth working knowledge of the industrial control, switchgear, and distribution product industry. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Consist Of:
1. Providing information and advice on our varied product range, offering solutions to customer technical requirements.
2. Understanding and interpreting customer requests for product advice, showing an ability to take the key information to provide solutions.
3. Having the knowledge to offer options to obsolete parts to both franchised and non-franchised brands.
4. Providing support with advice and solutions to our internal and external sales teams.
5. Compiling quotations quickly and precisely using our internal SAP system (training will be provided).
6. Being comfortable dealing with telephone, email, and webchat enquiries.
7. Developing your own knowledge and skills through our continuous training and personal development programs.
8. Working with our key suppliers to help promote their brands and new products.
9. Using your knowledge of our extensive stock to provide fast off-the-shelf solutions to customer requirements.
10. Sharing your knowledge with team members to assist in staff training and awareness.
What You Will Bring to the Role:
1. A good knowledge of basic electrical principles and/or electrical theory. Education to a suitable industry standard in electrical and/or electronics preferred but not necessary if you can display competency.
2. A working knowledge of the control and switchgear industry and products.
3. Preferably experience working within a technical support role or team.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work well as a team member and display good time and self-management skills.
7. A willingness to solve customer issues by applying your skills and knowledge.
