Retrofit Operations Manager
Remuneration: £70,000-£75,000 per annum plus package (negotiable)
Type: Permanent (Monday to Friday) 8am to 5pm
Start Date: ASAP
A leading national property service contractor requires a qualified Retrofit Operations Manager to join them permanently manage multi disciplined operatives and be instrumental in the overall success of the new division. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in undertaking retrofit projects but also with a track record of managing senior and junior members of staff. The main task to this role in to oversee all retrofit operations within the branch.
You will be a significant member of the senior team making a meaningful impact to the sustainability of buildings across the region.
Core duties:
1. Supervise all retrofit projects within your designated workstream or branch, coordinating contract staff to ensure adherence to schedules, safety protocols, budgetary goals, and quality standards.
2. Uphold company values and actively contribute to the achievement of objectives, particularly in the continual development of personnel and maximizing productivity through direct employment.
3. Ensure all staff and subcontractors understand key values, culture, and expectations in a fast-paced contracting environment.
4. Oversee staff training in health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and site-specific requirements.
5. Manage project teams, ensuring appropriate resources and supervisory staff are allocated for each retrofit project, and support mobilisation of new contracts.
6. Ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are maintained through regular site inspections and audits.
7. Provide leadership, mentoring, and feedback to Contracts Operations staff, ensuring their development and compliance with company policies.
What we require from you:
1. 3 years’ experience delivering retrofit projects involving EWI/IWI/CWI, solar panels, roofing, heat pumps & ground pumps.
2. Qualification in retrofit courses accredited by a recognised body. e.g. Level 3, 4 or 5 Assessor or Coordinator.
3. Prior experience in managing large-scale construction projects or fabric upgrades, particularly within the retrofit and energy efficiency sectors.
4. Proficient in Excel with strong data analysis and reporting skills at an intermediate level.
5. Demonstrates financial acumen, with a clear understanding of budgeting, cost control, and driving profitability across projects.
6. Deep operational insight with a focus on efficient project execution and resource management.
7. Strong background in surveying or estimating within the construction industry, with experience in applying financial and contractual controls to ensure project success.
8. Competency with all Microsoft Suites.
