Business Development Manager (Automation)
Remote (Office in Telford)
£ - Experience Dependant + Bonus + Car Allowance
Our client is a market leader in the integration of automated solutions into industries such as FMCG, Automotive, and Marine. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing team. The role will involve the generation of new leads and securing new long-term partnerships. The role can be remote-based, but the successful candidate will on occasion be required in the Telford office.
Key Responsibilities - Business Development Manager (Automation)
1. Present to potential clients through direct or digital communication.
2. Provide a high-quality service to potential and existing customers.
3. Successfully manage the sales process from lead generation, pitching, asking questions, pitching the solution, negotiating and closing the order through to handing over a project to the Engineering team and kick-off meeting with the customer.
4. Prepare proposals and specifications with the full support of the Sales Applications team and in accordance with company procedures.
5. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry. Maintain an awareness of competitor activities.
6. Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows in order to gain new business leads and contacts.
7. Maintain the Company's reputation as a leading-edge systems integrator.
8. Responsible for generation of new leads and making suitable appointments. Motivated to ensure all sales opportunities are explored.
9. Travel will be a major factor and overnight stops may be required. Overseas travel can be expected from time to time.
10. Comply with all relevant standards and work to the Company's ISO9001 & ISO14001 registered.
11. To comply with all Company procedures as defined in various documents including the Quality Manual, Staff Manual, and Health & Safety Manual.
12. Be pro-active in supporting other company activities such as supporting colleagues.
13. To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers, and company staff.
Qualifications & Experience - Business Development Manager (Automation)
1. Qualified to degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
2. A minimum of five years' previous experience in a similar role.
3. A knowledge of systems integration incorporating Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, Robotics, and SCADA / HMI products, MES / MIS, Simulation, Smart solutions, and autonomous mobile applications.
4. Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications.
5. Have established customer contacts at senior level.
