To support our engineering teams, we now require highly motivated Project Controls Professional to lead the deployment and maintenance of Project Controls across rapidly growing and fast paced engineering programmes. The successful candidate will be a key member of Novel Nuclear and Special Projects, leading the definition and implementation of appropriate and scalable project controls processes, contributing to the successful delivery across all programmes in NN&SP. What you’ll be doing : Lead project performance management to ensure the delivery of business case outcomes, customer requirements, deliverables, and benefits in-line with project management functional requirements. Act as a focal point for Project Controls and lead stakeholder management activities and establish effective communication on programme performance. Deploy project management practices that includes schedule, risk, cost, benefits and resource management, across the entire project using a suite of key performance indicators to show progress, variance to baseline, trends and compliance in-line with business and project management processes. Manage the project management documentation and artefacts in executive systems in-line with change control. Aggregate and maintain project forecasts for the department budgets. This includes EAC, delivery forecasts and the actions required to optimise these outcomes. Ensure the generation of project management reports in line with the business reporting cycle. Establish and maintain the change control process for the programme with baseline ownership and ensure that change requests are correctly sanctioned and incorporated at all levels of the programme structure. Provide assurance checks and ensure that the programme operates in line with programme and business project management standards ensuring artefacts are maintained, process compliance, data quality is maintained and historical data is archived. Leadership of others regarding project controls and the operation of project controls systems, tools and methods. When necessary, deputise for Line Manager and represent the department/business, covering both internal/external reviews or meetings. Leads the integration of project management activities with other functions i.e. engineering, supply chain, planning & control. Leading project management governance meetings, proposing and making decisions (as appropriate), providing direction and ensuring any escalations are made to Project Leadership. Identification and implementation of project management improvements in conjunction with the Project Management Function. Whilst full training will be provided, a successful candidate would be expected to have: Experienced in project management, ideally in a Project Controls environment. Ideally attained Degree level qualification (in a relevant subject) or has equivalent industry experience. Attained APM Project Management Qualification or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge. Ideally obtained the APMG Project Planning and Controls (PPC) Practitioner qualification. Ideally Associate Member of Association of Project Management, working towards full MAPM. Demonstrate good experience of leading & delivering in cross functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience of SAP, P6, ARM and EVM software. Experience of working with Integrated Master Schedules/ Costs. Demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to analyse and interpret complex data in order to make decisions/recommendations. Strong people management and interpersonal skills, including experience in providing structured coaching and personal development.
