As a spray technician your primary responsibility will be the preparation and application of fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides to maintain the turf, landscaping, and overall course quality whilst maintaining accurate records of chemical applications and schedules. This role requires the operation and maintenance of spray equipment, conducting regular inspections to identify pest or disease issues, and implementing effective solutions while adhering to strict safety standards. You will gain valuable experience in the 'grow in' of a truly world class golfing facility along with setting up the already established golf holes for play which will include the preparation of bunkers, walk mowing bent grass greens complexes, tees set up & the mowing of fairways, tie ins and roughs. This hands-on and outdoor role combines practical expertise with the satisfaction of contributing to an exceptional member and guest experience, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in nature and has knowledge of turf management, pest control and chemical handling. Previous experience in a similar role and/ or environment would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. To be successful you will have a genuine interest and knowledge of the game as well as the desire to learn and develop in your career. A full UK Driving License is essential, and the following qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
* Proficient in Information Communication Technology
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Greenkeeping and Sports Turf Management, PA1, PA2 and PA6A spraying certificates.
* Certified to operate Chainsaws.
You need to be passionate about working outdoors in varying weather conditions (this is Scotland after all!) and have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment. Good communication skills and a proactive attitude is essential, and you can maintain a professional and welcoming approach when engaging with members, guests & visitors. Pulling together and mucking in as a team across the whole site is essential including conducting remedial and preventative work to support other areas of the business.
