Our client based in Blackburn is looking to recruit a Financial Controller.
The Financial Controller is to maintain all financial systems, identifying areas that require improvement and implementing necessary changes to support business development.
Financial Controller's daily duties may include the following activities:
1. Supervise the preparation of month end accounts and VAT returns
2. Ensure the completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
3. Budget analysis
4. Managing the audit process and liaising with external personnel
5. Oversee the preparation of year end statutory accounts
6. Managing, mentoring and motivating the accounts team
7. Budgeting & forecasting
8. Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making process
9. Undertaking financial analysis and reporting
10. Ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place
11. Overseeing tax and compliance
12. Developing forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
13. Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
14. Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
15. Produce month end and year end journals
16. Prepare statutory and management accounts
17. Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
18. Manage capital expenditure
19. Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
20. Accountability for cash flow and production of forecasts
21. Review company assets and liabilities
22. Prepare monthly reconciliations for all accounts
23. Assessment of monthly expenses
24. Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT
25. Production of relevant commercial analysis e.g. margins and pricing
