Do you have excellent people skills and a deep understanding of Software? We have a vacancy for a Software Category Manager in our team.
Reporting into the Category Director for Technology and working with the IT Leadership team, you will be part of a high performing category team of 6 procurement professionals managing a substantial range of projects and stakeholder and supplier relationships.
About the role
You will be the Software Procurement lead for Walgreens Boots Alliance's businesses located outside the US. The overriding responsibility is to deliver the best possible value to Walgreens Boots Alliance from 3rd party relationships within the category by:
1. Negotiating with key partners such as Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce, and Oracle.
2. Selecting the best new products to meet our requirements and business objectives.
3. Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of commercial strategies.
4. Working closely with stakeholders to develop procurement category initiatives.
5. Identifying, creating, and implementing initiatives to maximise value and ensure ongoing management of existing supplier contracts and relationships.
6. Providing commercial leadership to stakeholders including senior executives.
7. Playing a role in the continuous development of the Boots Procurement team.
You will focus on Software agreements and will require existing expertise in the field. You will need to apply your Software knowledge and provide effective and credible commercial guidance in often complex scenarios.
What you'll need to have
1. You can operate collaboratively within a complex environment.
2. You have in-depth Procurement knowledge in Technology and specifically in Enterprise Software.
3. You have experience delivering at pace whilst working on a wide range of initiatives.
4. You have industry knowledge and category insights to provide knowledge-based challenge to stakeholders and suppliers alike.
5. You are commercially astute with strong communication and negotiation skills and adept at applying a variety of commercial approaches to deliver value to the business.
