This well-established childcare nursery is looking for an enthusiastic person to join their team as an Early Years Educator working with 2-3 yr olds and who will become a willing and integral part of the team whilst studying for their Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
This role would suit someone who is already qualified to Early Years Practitioner Level 2 and is looking to advance their skills as an early year’s educator.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure all pre-school procedures are followed correctly e.g. recording accidents, reporting incidents and other record keeping
* Be aware of Child Protection issues, Risk Assessments and other operational procedures
* Supervising children and being aware of their needs, supporting them and keeping them safe.
* Giving the children new experiences and encouraging independence with support.
* Supporting and working with the rest of the team
* Helping prepare activities, preparing snacks, garden supervision, washing children’s hands, etc.
* Recognising the importance of promoting good health and safety routines.
* Ensuring confidentiality of the children and staff is maintained
* Preparing the environment to ensure that everything is kept in order, clean and all the equipment is complete and in good working condition.

* Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
* Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
* Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.

Other requirements
This is a 18-month apprenticeship and applicants MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it and already have attained their Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification Applicants MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. Applicants WILL NOT BE eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer. Applicants MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study. The learning provider will be Chichester College although the vacancy location is the Bognor Regis so the ability to travel will be essential as this will be a remote learning with some attendance at Chichester. Your study will be for Early Years Educator L3 - we offer this as a Twilight 4-8 once a month either at Chichester College or remote in the workplace. You discuss your training plan with our tutors once you have been offered the position. The Nursery is happy to look at students who will be completing college later in the year providing they have the necessary qualifications as well as applicants who are available now. A DBS check will be required.
