Stock Controller – Chemical Manufacturing
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Job Overview:
At Marlowe Environmental Services, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Controller to manage and maintain stock accuracy within our chemical manufacturing facility. The role is crucial in ensuring all stock movements are correctly recorded, stored safely, and meet regulatory and traceability requirements. Alongside working with our manufacturing team, the ideal candidate will work closely with the technical team to manage waste and quarantine stock, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and chemical segregation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accurately record all stock movements in the ManuOnline system, ensuring full traceability.
2. Book in and put away incoming stock efficiently and correctly.
3. Store newly manufactured materials in designated locations with correct labelling following company and regulatory guidelines.
4. Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained and assist in regular cyclical stock counts and audits.
5. Ensure stock rotation is maintained – first in, first out.
6. Ensure the segregation of incompatible chemicals, reducing risks of contamination or hazardous reactions.
7. Work closely with the technical team and third-party companies to manage waste and quarantine stock.
8. Maintain accurate records of quarantined and waste stock.
9. Liaise with production and technical teams to maintain smooth stock flow and resolve discrepancies.
10. Provide regular stock reports to the Operations Manager, highlighting any concerns or discrepancies.
11. Assist in investigations for stock discrepancies, damages, or non-conforming materials.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in stock control, warehouse, or inventory management (preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment).
2. Familiarity with inventory management systems.
3. Strong understanding of chemical handling, labelling, and segregation requirements.
4. Ability to maintain accurate records and work with traceability systems.
5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with cross-functional teams.
7. Forklift license.
