An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Assistant to join our team at St Georges Park Hospital, Morpeth.
This post will be offered as Part Time working hours per week.
Our team of Service Assistants keep our buildings clean and tidy and provide a great service to patients, visitors and staff. You could be cleaning a hospital ward, patient bedroom or office areas and corridors.Because we provide services to the NHS your work supports better patient care. It's important work and you will need to take pride in what you do and complete tasks to a high you are on a hospital ward you will be working alongside patients who have mental health illness, learning disabilities or brain injuries. You could be cleaning their rooms and the shared areas on the ward and you will get to know them and the clinical staff and you'll feel part of the team. It can be a real challenge working on wards like these but we also know that our staff find it rewarding.
As part of our Service Assistant role at our Ferndene site staff work alternate weeks of Domestic shifts then a week of cooking shifts for the patients, This entails cooking, temperature checking and complying to our BSI paperwork, Full training will be given for this role. Main duties of the job
1. Cleaning of offices, public areas and service user areas
2. Undertake, with the minimum of supervision, all routine duties.
3. To assist in basic food preparation, and undertake cleaning duties within a designated kitchen/dining room area.

Pay: Band A (£12 per hour)
We pay 25% enhancement, time and a quarter, on hours worked during a Saturday and Sunday.

8. This is a role that does not require any formal qualifications. The most important skills are the ability to keep calm under pressure, have a real empathy for people who need support.

10. Training will be expected and provided around Food Hygiene and Cleanliness.
