Stantec UK is seeking an experienced and driven leader to support continued growth in our transitional and coastal water quality modelling team. This leadership role will oversee the delivery of technical projects, building on existing opportunities in the UK and overseas.

Reporting to our UK Water Sector Lead and working closely with Stantec Environmental Water Quality and Coastal Engineering Groups with support from a network of technical experts both in the UK and in North America; you can be located at any of our 24 offices in the UK whilst also flexible working.

About You
With a solid technical background and a passion for delivering effective solutions you will work closely with the Leadership team to grow and develop the business. You will be a recognised leader in your field and hold a degree in Civil, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering and be able to demonstrate the experience, character, and qualities of a chartered professional.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Expert knowledge of environmental water quality regulation; for example the Water Framework Directive, Bathing Water Directive, Storm Overflow Assessment Framework (SOAF) and Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plans.
2. Industry-leading experience in coastal modelling to help with bid writing and win work, and to best assess the team's needs in terms of human and computational resources and software.
3. Ability to develop innovative industry-leading approaches in new technical areas and in data-poor environments to support clients in decision-making.
4. Experience in assessment and design of mitigation through engineered and nature-based solutions to support coastal ecosystem restoration.
You will hold strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations, written technical report preparation, and project experience through professional publications and presentations. Demonstrated expertise in water quality modelling to oversee and review technical work.
