Responsibilities You will provide an effective high quality social work service to the people of Dundee. To be part of the Community Mental Health Team for Older People. You assist in maintaining older people with mental health needs in the community by providing a range of care management tasks. These include the assessment of individual need, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages. The Individual You will have significant experience in Community Care and Adult Support and Protection work, Community Care Case holding experience and experience of multi-agency collaborative work with other agencies. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with service users and carers, to undertake initial assessments, work to tight timescales, prioritise competing demands, relate positively with colleagues, in Social Work and other agencies. You will be a creative thinker with the ability to consider different resource options and meet challenges and deadlines. You will have the availability to work beyond normal hours when needs of service users demand this. You must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
