Falcon Timber, part of Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) Ltd, is a market leader supplying sustainable timber products to a broad range of customers, mainly in the construction, merchants and joinery markets across the UK and Ireland. This is a time of exciting transformation for CTH as we deepen our presence in existing markets but also expand our reach into new customer groups who seek quality, innovative and market leading timber solutions.
We currently have over 300 employees operating out of 8 distribution depots, 3 manufacturing sites and our Head Office at the Port of Tilbury.
What is the main purpose of the role?
As a Sales & Business Development Exec at Falcon Timber, part of the CTH Group, your role is to drive higher basket value with existing customers whilst also seeking out new and profitable customers, selling our full of industry leading products. This role is based in our Gateshead site with visits to customers based in the North East/North West and Scottish Borders.
What are the key areas of responsibility?
* Actively promote the company’s full range of products with a focus on the high-value and exclusive ranges.
* Be an integral part of the sales team, managing the daily flow of enquiries and orders received.
* Undertake targeted personal visits to new and existing customers.
* Operate proactively to develop high quality new business opportunities for the company, sourcing and tracking leads via social media and local market intelligence.
* Meet and exceed defined key performance indicators and agreed budget targets.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
* At least 2 years experience of selling to customers in a similar industry with a proven track record of success, either internally or externally.
* Positive and resilient, able to work at pace with a high degree of self discipline.
* Well developed communication skills, able to influence and negotiate to secure commercially driven results.
* Able to work on own initiative, with effective time management skills to maximise on opportunities.
* Full UK Driving Licence required for site visits.
