This position will be based at the Borders General Hospital (Melrose) but there will be a requirement to work flexibly across the Scottish Borders region serving acute and primary health care facilities.
NHS Borders Estates Department has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Estates Officer - The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of operational maintenance and management of mechanical and electrical engineering services within NHS Borders property portfolio. The post holder will support the Estates Manager in leading a multi-disciplinary team of directly employed labour and term/specialist contractors ensuring they are utilised effectively and efficiently.
Ensuring a safe, effective and efficient service. Experienced in managing during periods of change, be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and have the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Excellent interpersonal skills teamed with good organisational skills, assertiveness and diplomacy; with the ability to use logic to solve problems rationally and effectively and be able to communicate clearly and articulately across all levels.

The person must be willing to undergo training, attend training courses etc when required.
There is a requirement to provide emergency on-call estates services and the occasional requirement to work outwith normal hours. (e.g. emergency situation)
