Techniche Global is supporting an industry leading manufacturer in Andover, North Hampshire to appoint a Project Manager. As Project Manager, you will be managing key client projects across their core industry domains which are Automotive Power Electronics, PCBA Manufacturing and Micro Electronics. You’ll work closely with a team undertaking early-stage product and process development in parallel with emerging technologies and configurations. Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager: Take leadership of projects and manage customer communication with the Power Electronics (PE) team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to ensure project targets and expectations are met. Responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned technical, build, and business support resources. Resolve any issues related to the team, plans, supply chain, and budget to ensure project deliverables and timelines are maintained. Identify potential project risks, lead the team in developing solutions, and ensure their implementation and reporting. Manage project scope and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, liaising with internal departments such as Business Development, Finance, and Purchasing. Organize and chair regular project and team meetings, both internally and with external stakeholders. Work with the Programme Manager to develop and maintain capability and resource plans to support concurrent multi-discipline projects. Plan product testing and verification activities across the full development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with cost, timing, and quality objectives. Drive and maintain quality while optimizing project management processes and practices to meet company and international quality standards. Provide professional and technical expertise to support the Power Electronics team, assisting customers and the supply chain in meeting departmental and company objectives. Develop professional and personal skills through education, training, and development within the team and externally. Work closely with the Engineering Manager to assign project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels. Required Technical Knowledge/Qualifications Qualified to a degree level or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering. Proven experience in Project Management. Expertise in planning and prioritizing project resources. Strong understanding of engineering principles, detailed drawings, and schematics. Experience with engineering manufacturing processes and material selection to meet cost and delivery targets. Knowledge of process development using Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEAs, 8D, and other problem-solving techniques, along with implementing corrective actions. Experience in representing Power Electronics while maintaining quality standards ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and driving continuous improvement (familiarity with IPC standards is advantageous).
