We are looking for an experienced Estate Surveyor to join our clients dynamic team. Key Details: Contract: Until September 2025 Rate: £454.58 PAYE / £600.00 Umbrella per day Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Minimum 3 days per week in office) Location: Slough The ideal candidate will have a background in estate management, preferably within a local authority setting, and possess strong skills in property valuation, negotiation, and asset management. As an Estate Surveyor, you will play a key role in the Estate Management programme, ensuring the optimal management and development of our property assets. Key Responsibilities: Estate Management: Implement the Estate Management programme effectively. Advise on enhancing assets prior to disposal, including planning applications, marriage value, and refurbishment, in collaboration with external consultants when necessary. Lead leasehold management, ensuring negotiations around income-producing commercial assets are carried out to maximise income and value for the client. Valuation and Analysis: Source Red Book valuations and conduct property appraisals to support Estate Management decisions. Prepare detailed property reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, including Executive and Key Decision reports, to assist decision-making. Conduct informal internal valuations and provide analysis as required. Undertake comprehensive market research to identify opportunities and trends, delivering accurate valuations and reports. Negotiation & Strategy: Lead negotiations with landowners, developers, and other stakeholders to secure optimal terms. Implement regearing and letting strategies to maximise income and enhance asset value. Develop strategies to recover overdue rent and service charges, ensuring tenants’ statutory and regulatory compliance certificates are in place. Undertake dilapidation surveys and work with tenants to recover outstanding funds. Asset Management: Assist in the maintenance of the Asset Register and coordination of the revaluation of all property assets. Ensure that buildings have appropriate insurance coverage and that book values and reinstatement costs are accurate. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including agents, landowners, developers, solicitors, and internal departments. Professional Experience: Previous experience in Estate Management, preferably within a local authority or public sector context. Proven expertise in leasehold management, negotiation, and maximising income from commercial assets. Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with external consultants, tenants, and internal teams. Strong understanding of relevant property legislation, regulations, and procurement procedures. Technical Skills: Solid experience in sourcing valuations, conducting property appraisals, and supporting estate management decisions. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure the best possible deals. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior stakeholders. Knowledge of asset management software and systems. Professional Qualifications: Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or a similar professional body is essential.
