HEAD OF PROJECTS

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Head of Projects to join our team to deliver planned client identified project works. This role is based on-site at our client’s Weybridge Campus
Job Purpose:
As the Head of Projects, you'll lead teams to safely deliver projects and have responsibility for generating a sales pipeline to drive revenue. You will make sure that projects are secured, delivered on time and within the financial requirements and margins specified by the business.
Main Duties:
* Ensure the safe delivery of projects through the management of risk and competence.
* Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of projects.
* Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities.
* Deliver contractual commitments on secured projects.
* Complete projects on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties.
* Identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with each and every project.
* Identify and win project work through effective relationships.
* Financial ownership and management & reporting of own projects P&L.
* Team development/mentoring
* Business Development: Seek out opportunities to generate projects through innovation and use of new technologies.
* Responsibility for Health & Safety and CDM on relevant projects
About You:
* Demonstrable Project Management Experience in a MEP, construction or other Critical environment.
* Experienced in developing new project opportunities - with a proven track record in high class project management delivery.
* Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen, including experience of running a P&L.
* Broad knowledge and understanding of construction health and safety laws and associated legislation
* Knowledge of the Construction industry including working experience with RIBA Work Stages.
* Demonstrable evidence of having managed, coached and developed a project team.
* Knowledge of key operational procedures, eg, project road maps, planned maintenance systems, Quality, Health & Safety systems etc.
* Experience of working on Government Contracts is desirable but not essential.
* Great influencing and negotiation skills including the ability to create, present and manage bids, tenders and proposals.
* Presenting and discussing technical topics with confidence.
* A recognised technical qualification in a building services discipline (e.g. Mech/Elec/Civil/RICS etc) would be an important pre-requisite of the role.
* Desirable: experience of project delivery relating to mechanical services including but not limited to Boilers, Chillers, AHU’s, Lab Extract Systems, Steam distribution and refrigerant could be an important element of the role.
* Good understanding of CDM Regulations (2015)
* Good computer skills – MS Project, MS Office etc
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is essential
* Ideally hold a recognised PM qualification (e.g. RICS / APM / PMP / Prince 2)
