Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30
Salary: £412.00 – £559.17 per week depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
Reportable to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office

Activity Leader contracts are based on a minimum of 4 days per week. You will have an allocated day off each week, confirmed through your Recruiter/Camp Manager. There may be a requirement to work the full 5 days depending on booking numbers and staffing requirements.
ACTIVITY LEADER DUTIES
* Assist with the setup and maintain a suitable base room area that is inviting for the children while ensuring it is kept tidy.
* Follow policies and procedures to ensure a fun and safe environment for the children in your care.
* Follow the prepared activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions.
* Work with the wider staff team to deliver sessions.
* Ensure the needs of the children are met with active supervision throughout the day.
* Plan and deliver a variety of age-appropriate activities.
* Encourage maximum participation of the children.
* Get to know the children as individuals and incorporate their interests into their day.
* Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
* Ensure the safe use of equipment and proper packing away.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experience or qualifications working with children.
* Aged 18 or over by the start date of your contract.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Provide satisfactory professional/academic references.
* Enthusiastic, caring, and organized with excellent communication skills.
* Able to adapt to unpredictable challenges within a childcare setting.
* Obtain an enhanced DBS check or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
* Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
* Complete Online Training annually.
* Attend Induction Training Day before your first working season.
* Assist with pack-up at the end of camp.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety obligations.
* Organize and deliver appropriate activities for the children.
* Encourage participation in new activities.
* Ensure safe behavior among children.
* Follow camp systems and guidelines on child welfare.
* Be a positive role model promoting a healthy lifestyle.
* Report any Child Protection concerns.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
* May be required to deliver Skills Builder sessions.
* Support swimming sessions as needed.
