Manufacturing Engineer sought within Somerset division of global specialist equipment manufacturer offering comprehensive benefits package and further career development opportunities.
The Role
1. Document, implement, own and continuously improve the manufacturing cell's Lean manufacturing processes according to the guidelines.
2. Be accountable for the definition, setup and optimisation of the processes within the allocated manufacturing cell.
3. Implement continuous improvement activities and projects, to design or optimise, prove, implement and maintain cell layouts.
4. Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell, including the authoring of safe systems of work.
5. Specification and purchasing of the appropriate tooling and equipment for the allocated manufacturing cell.
6. Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance to current regulations in terms of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
7. Ownership and accountability to resolve or support any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process.
The Person
1. Equivalent experience in a similar role.
2. Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering degree, qualification or equivalent.
3. Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures and work instructions.
4. Experience in optimising production processes as well as providing production support.
5. Experience of problem solving and or utilising root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
6. Able to work cross functionally, communicate and build working relationships at all levels.
7. Ability to develop technical solutions, to requirements, within agreed timescales.
8. Full comprehension of engineering drawings, schematics and diagrams.
9. Implementing the principles of Lean manufacturing.
10. Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
11. MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
12. DFM/PFMEA awareness.
13. Experience in implementing change, change management.
14. Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental and quality regulations.
15. Project management experience, including risk, schedule and cost.
