Hours and Shift Pattern: 35 hours per week Wednesday to Sunday Sunday off every two weeks. The restaurant is a snug, contemporary space with 35 covers per service (lunch and dinner, Wednesday - Sunday only) where guests enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals using fresh and local produce and a wide range of drinks including beers from local breweries. The Hartley Arms has ambitions to gain AA Rosettes and Michelin Stars, and be the number one restaurant in Newbury (and beyond) on Trip Advisor. Why us, and not them? General Purpose To ensure the delivery of excellent customer service in a variety of our locations in a cheerful and efficient manner to all our customers. Oversee the entire shop including the flow of customers / orders, staff activities and shop environment. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY As a keyholder, open up the restaurant and coffee shop for service: Take delivery of goods from the wholesale unit and display / put away. Report any shortages Stock rotation, check and report dates on products Display products and price Amend menu board with specials / remove any out of stock items Do fridge checks and temperature checks on delivery Check coffee shop is clean and tidy and ready for service (sugar bowls, clean tables etc) Deliver excellent customer service whilst: Answering telephone enquiries in the restaurant and taking orders over the telephone Waiting on tables in both the coffee shop, and restaurant as required Clearing tables and washing up Polishing cutlery and folding napkins as required. Preparing food (paninis/bacon rolls etc.) and drinks (check temps in line with company Food Safety guidelines)Engaging with customers in a friendly and community-focused manner. Having an excellent understanding of Honesty Group products, values and culture. Finishing up by: Ensuring entire shop is clean and tidy, items are replenished for the next day Sweep / mop floors Clean toilets, mop floor Tidy and clean outdoor areas Empty Bins Tidy stock room Check all equipment is cleaned and switched off Place orders with Head Office, Head Chef and General Manager for stock items / products Log waste Cash up and pass this on to Duty Manager Lock up There are many opportunities within Honesty Group, and we want to help you reach your dream role.
