About the role
Vision for Education is partnering with secondary schools in and around Ipswich to recruit enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. This role offers both daily supply work and longer fixed-term contracts.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classrooms of approximately 30 pupils during the regular teacher’s absence. You will cover various secondary school subjects with provided lesson plans. Your key responsibilities include facilitating lessons, managing classroom behavior, accurately recording attendance, and providing a handover report to the absent teacher. Ideal candidates will be adaptable, motivated, confident, and organized, with a passion for education and supporting young people.
This position is perfect for gaining valuable experience in a secondary school setting before applying for Initial Teacher Training. While previous experience in a secondary school is desirable, it is not essential. We offer a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme for newcomers to equip you with the necessary skills. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
1. A degree or equivalent education
2. A willingness to learn
3. Natural leadership qualities and confidence to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher
4. A passion for education and providing high-level support to young people
