Start Date: ASAP About the Role We are urgently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Site Manager to oversee the effective management, maintenance, and health and safety of our school premises. This is a pivotal role for someone who can ensure the smooth operation of the school environment, manage a team of Site Assistants, and take responsibility for maintaining the premises to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: Premises Management: Manage the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the school premises as the School Site Manager. Develop and implement a 3–5 year maintenance plan in collaboration with the Headteacher. Act as the main keyholder, ensuring the site is secure at all times and responding to emergencies as required. Supervise contractors and manage small maintenance projects to ensure high standards and value for money. Oversee the cleaning team, ensuring the school is maintained to an excellent standard, including during school closures. Health and Safety: Take full responsibility for health and safety across the school premises. Conduct regular health and safety inspections, risk assessments, and fire drills, maintaining accurate records. Address hazards promptly and ensure all safety protocols are strictly adhered to, including for visitors and contractors. Maintain and update all health and safety documentation, including COSHH and RIDDOR reports. Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of Site Assistants, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively. Provide training and appraisals to develop the team’s skills and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Sustainability and Green Initiatives: Take a proactive interest in ‘green matters,’ promoting sustainable practices across the school community. General Duties: Ensure the school grounds and entrances are clean, safe, and welcoming. Carry out minor repairs and DIY projects to maintain the premises. Oversee waste management and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Ensure all equipment, including minibuses and electrical appliances, is maintained and inspected regularly.
