Job summary
The Managing Director (MD) will be responsible for the leadership and management oftheir respective hospital as a component of the trust's portfolio of hospitals.
The MD is accountable to the CEO for patient safety, clinical and operational performance, financial management and controls and performance delivery of their hospital. As a member of the Executive Team, the MD will ensure there is constant and visible site leadership to direct and lead clinical and corporate services, underpinned by strong corporate governance.
The MD will promote our vision and ten-year strategy, underpinned by our refreshedclinical strategy, to harness the skills and expertise of our clinical staff to drive improvements in patient care and realise the merger benefits. Through excellent leadership, the MD will enable the delivery of high quality of care in line with our values and behaviours. This means providing the best, safest patient experience and best possible patient outcomes within available resources.
Main duties of the job
Integrated care and population health management are key strands of our strategy and will require the MD and their leadership teams to work closely with primary care colleagues, community collaborative, stewards, local councils and Place/alliance teams to improvehealth outcomes in their local geography.
The post holder will play their collective leadership role in the trust developing a professional culture that attracts, nurtures, develops and retains a compassionate, skilled, and flexible workforce. This includes enabling diversity in all its forms, a culture of learning and improvement and an ability to lead service innovation and transformation, working with clinical teams across the integrated care system
