The Role
As an Operations Support Manager, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You’ll play an essential part in our mission, delivering innovative solutions within the QinetiQ Civil Flying Organisation (QCFO). This role offers a unique blend of strategic responsibility and hands-on coordination to support critical operations.
Day-to-day, you will work closely with internal teams and external agencies to ensure that all necessary support is efficiently planned and implemented.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Oversee the management of aircraft Ground-Based Training Systems, ensuring all software and hardware are up-to-date and fully functional
* Collaborate with the Survival Equipment (SE) Section to assess and manage current and future equipment needs. This includes oversight of logistical challenges for equipment procurement and identification
* Assist the Business Manager with essential budget administration tasks to support our financial goals
* Coordinate closely with airfield partners to ensure smooth operations and adherence to protocols
* Attend weekly Short Cast Meetings to represent QCFO management, providing insights and updates as directed by the Head of Flying or Head of Airworthiness
Essential experience of the Operations Support Manager:
* Proven experience in people and asset management
* Background in an aviation, avionics, or aircraft environment

This role is 37 hours per week based at MoD Boscombe Down. Hybrid working patterns available.
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
