Job Overview
Wythenshawe Hospital is looking for a full-time enthusiastic radiographer to work in MR scanning. You should have proven basic MRI imaging skills and the ability to work flexibly over 7 days in 12-hour shifts. Interest in scanning Children and Young People is required as there will be a rotational requirement with the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
If you have a proven aptitude for MRI and would like the opportunity to expand your clinical scanning skills, then we can offer the successful candidate exposure to high-level, complex scanning techniques.
Main Duties of the Job
Training will be provided in advanced aspects of MR scanning. Successful applicants will form part of the MR scanning team and will be expected to follow direction from the senior MR radiographers responsible for the daily scanning workload at both Wythenshawe Hospital and Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Wythenshawe uses a Siemens Sola 1.5T wide bore scanner, with an additional scanner being installed early 2025. Royal Manchester Children's Hospital uses a Siemens Avanto 1.5T scanner.
Wythenshawe undertakes a wide range of examinations, including vascular, gynaecological, GU, gastro, neurological, and muscular skeletal. Training will be given for more complex or department-specific scans. You will also gain experience in breast biopsy, paediatric GA scanning, pacemaker scanning, and complex vascular scanning techniques.
RMCH undertakes scans under both GA and sedation, along with providing scanning capacity for all urgent emergency care patients and in-patients. Collaborative work with a multi-disciplinary team, including health play specialists, is required.
MFT is committed to staff development and currently supports a radiographer reporting of MR musculoskeletal examinations.
