The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd., a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype fusion plant. UKIFS is establishing itself, setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing the STEP prototype.

The salary for this role is £48,376, and onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, however, we actively support requests for Flexible Working.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role
As our Benefits and Impact Specialist, you will develop and deliver benefits, monitoring and evaluation (BM&E) activities for STEP. You will play a pivotal role in the development of a robust evidence-base to demonstrate the value of STEP and its impact on the nation. You will support the Benefits, Monitoring and Evaluation Lead to generate timely evidence and insights, enabling STEP to maximize our impact.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide the Evidence-Base for Policy and Decision Making:
* Design, deliver, and manage both in-house and commissioned research projects.
* Conduct qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research.
* Help build and manage internal data collection and conduct in-depth research.
* Provide training, coaching, and mentoring.
* Deliver Impactful Products:
* Produce research reports and briefings.
* Respond to ad-hoc requests for evidence.
* Contribute to the development of business cases.
* Peer review reports and presentations.
* Build a Strong Network:
* Build relationships across STEP, UKAEA, and relevant HMG teams.
* Provide support to the Benefits, Monitoring and Evaluation Lead.
* Embody a Leadership Mindset:
* Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
* Act as a cultural ambassador.
* Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and ethical behaviour.

Qualifications:
* Experience working with programme benefits and/or monitoring and evaluation.
* Experience of quantitative and/or qualitative data management and/or analysis.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence forging relationships.
* Experience of delivering large scale complex evaluations.
* Ability to train, coach and develop indirect reports.
