Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. About the Role: Due to a contract expansion and further agreed works with our customer we are seeking an General Operative to join our team. As an General Operative within Mears, you will be working alongside our repairs team carrying out tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure commercial requirements for number of visits, quality, service user satisfaction, cost and timing are met. An General Operative within our Northeast branch your main duties will be cleaning void properties and rooms, painting, collecting and disposing of any inventory. The successful candidate will also be completing any DIY duties that are required. This may include hoovering, fitting blinds, fixing any doors and windows that are broken or completing any basic plumbing work. Another side of the role will be working on responsive properties. This is where you will be changing light bulbs, fitting new washers and cutting the garden.
