About The Role:
As a Sales Manager you are responsible for managing the productivity and development of a team of Account Managers. The Sales Manager ensures the growth and development of customer accounts through strategic decision-making upholding the company’s commitment to service. Our sales managers deliver continual feedback and sales coaching to their team for sales representatives to effectively do their work and achieve performance goals. They exemplify our core values and ensure all members of the team do the same.
Responsibilities:
People Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of inside salespeople by providing industry expertise, guidance, and daily support. Deliver proactive coaching, conduct monthly one-on-one sessions based on KPI scorecards, and perform quarterly performance reviews to ensure continuous development.
Business Development: Ensure sales representatives employ innovative sales techniques that highlight your company's value proposition. Oversee the development and execution of sales pipelines and strategies. Assist with the timely submission of customer bid packages and RFPs to secure new business opportunities.
Growth Strategy: Regularly review customer metrics, collaborate with sales reps to strengthen existing relationships, and develop tailored growth strategies for each account to drive business expansion.
Sales Development Training: Provide continuous feedback and ongoing sales coaching. Work with the Training and Development team to maintain and enhance sales training programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the UK freight market.
Performance Management: Set clear direction and manage team deliverables concerning sales performance, pipeline management, and customer service levels. Ensure specific KPIs and activity metrics are met to maintain high operational standards.
Communication: Keep the team informed about company and industry updates. Facilitate positive cross-departmental collaboration and promote synergy between customer and carrier sales departments to enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of sales experience.
* Minimum 3 years of logistics industry experience.
* Experience in creating and executing a sales plan.
* Experience using systems including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems
Skills:
* Proven individual performer with an ability to coach and lead
* Strong negotiation skills and extensive sales experience.
* Strong organisation and planning skills as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
