As a Food Technology (FT) Teacher, you will guide students through the fascinating world of food preparation, nutrition, and culinary arts. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology, tailored to the Key Stage curriculum. Plan and deliver practical cooking sessions, emphasising safety and hygiene in food preparation. Teach students about nutrition, healthy eating, and the cultural significance of food. Inspire creativity by encouraging students to design and execute their own culinary projects. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development. Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment, including equipment and resources. Prepare students for assessments, ensuring they meet the required academic standards. Foster a passion for food, cooking, and nutrition among students of varying abilities and interests. Collaborate with other staff to integrate food technology into the wider curriculum. Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages all students to thrive. Food Technology (Food Tech) Teacher Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. A degree in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field. Proven experience teaching Food Technology in secondary schools. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of diverse abilities. Knowledge of the Key Stage curriculum for Food Technology. A commitment to promoting healthy eating, creativity, and practical skills. Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills. A passion for teaching and a proactive approach to student development. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for one.
