Bethany Christian Trust's Edinburgh Housing Support service offers accommodation and support to individuals who have registered as homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless within Edinburgh.
We are looking for a support worker to deliver Housing Support to individuals across Edinburgh. You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Support Worker’ is desirable coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.

Bethany provides 30 days of annual leave initially to all contracted staff, rising to a maximum of 40 days depending on length of service. Who we are looking for:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through Positive Behaviour Support and Trauma-Informed Practice? Care Support Scotland is looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record in social care to lead and inspire our team.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a registered manager of an adult social care service, along with expertise in staff management and service development. Strong ICT skills and the ability to articulate and implement service improvements are essential.

Responsibilities of the Service Manager include:
* Offer and maintain a comprehensive, procedurally correct, high standard and forward-thinking service, which meets health and social care standards requirements; Provide vision, creativity and a multi-disciplinary approach to service delivery. Manage the selection process for all applicants, supervise the management of each tenancy support/care package’s delivery ensuring collaboration with all relevant parties and facilitate regular reviews.
* In collaboration with the finance team, ensure the Service’s invoice management is timeous and effective.
* Facilitate the people you support lifestyle choices, rights and communication needs.
* Develop services in partnership with the Developments Team by pursuing local growth through Spot Purchase of non-core care at home and supporting people, trusts/grants or block grant.
* Manage, lead and motivate staff by ensuring an innovative and dynamic support service; Work in partnership with People and Culture to ensure best practice in the application of people policies and in leadership and management.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
* A relevant practice qualification (at least SCQF level 9 or above) recognised by the SSSC, in the category of managers of a Housing Support Service.
* A relevant management qualification (SCQF level 9 or 10) recognised by the SSSC, in the category of managers of a Housing Support Service.
Additional Notes:
Shift work, weekend work and sleepovers may be a requirement of this role, sleepovers attract an additional payment. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.
PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are requirements of this post.

We are currently recruiting for Trustees with a particular interest in candidates with experience in the following areas:
* Leadership roles in children and families and child-protection focused services (i.e. social work, residential care, family support)
* Charitable/third sector – delivery and governance
* Fundraising and income generation
No previous board experience is necessary as full support and training will be provided.
Your responsibilities
Being a trustee requires a time commitment to the role. Duties/tasks include:
* Attending and contributing at our 4 board meetings a year (quarterly)
* Taking part in our annual Development session with staff and/or trustees

Can you work with a local community to encourage their explorations of the Christian faith?
We are looking for someone with a deep and mature Christian faith who has experience of working across communities and with families and Under-40s to join our Christian Outreach Leadership team.
The role holder will undertake a range of Community Outreach duties that will look at, and deliver, patterns of worship more relevant to this age group.
Please note that this role is currently funded through an award received from Seeds For Change and is for a 3-year period in the first instance after which other funds to support the role will need to be found.
The role holder is expected to participate, on an agreed basis, in worship at churches within the DCG.
It is an essential requirement of this role that the post-holder is a committed Christian with a live church connection, which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010.
