Job Description
The Project Architect will play a key role in overseeing the planning, design, and execution of building projects. This individual will collaborate closely with junior staff, clients, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop comprehensive design solutions and construction documents. The Project Architect will also provide mentorship to junior architectural staff, helping them grow in their roles and pursue licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Planning: Oversee and collaborate with junior staff to plan, program, and formulate building designs. Prepare design presentations and construction contract documents.
2. Client Interaction: Develop building design criteria in direct communication with clients. Lead the preparation of presentation materials and present these designs to clients.
3. Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate the development of building designs and construction documents in collaboration with architectural and multi-discipline engineering teams.
4. Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior architectural staff, ensuring effective collaboration on multi-discipline projects. Provide support in the pursuit of licensure.
5. Construction Details: Determine appropriate construction materials, technologies, and methodologies for detailing in design work.
6. Technical Specifications: Prepare, edit, and finalize technical specifications for construction projects.
7. Compliance: Confirm adherence to applicable planning, zoning, building codes, and regulations. Coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure compliance.
8. Project Support: Assist in the development and management of project budgets and schedules, both internal and external.
9. Sales Support: Support business development by overseeing the creation of proposal renderings and documents in response to client requests for proposals.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
2. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of related experience in architecture. Must possess Registered Architect (RA) certification. Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
