The Intensive Behavioral Intervention Specialist maintains meaningful relationships and positive outcomes with families as part of the greater team to prevent additional crisis and potential residential placement for children and adolescentswith Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and other disabilities.
This full-time position, based at our Lawrence, MA, offices will:
* Complete assessment on the child/adolescent and their family to determine needed appointments.
* Utilize Charting the Life Course tool and the Intensive Flexible Family Supports (IFFS) check list to develop in partnership with the family the Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP).
* Arrange for and assure training for any family on the caseload when applicable.
* Serve as the principle liaison between the family support program and other resources working with families on assigned families.
* Travel within the Merrimack Valley, Lowell, Northshore, Central Middlesex and Metro North is a requirement.
* In person or zoom meetings are necessary each week for all clients on your case load. two late evenings per week are required; but schedule can be adjusted to accommodate the two late evenings during the week.
Requirements:
* At least 3 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
* Strong communication skills and knowledge of services for children/adolescents with disabilities and their families.
* Minimum of BA degree in social work, psychology, special education, or a related field, master’s preferred or working on Master’s in the field.
* Experience as SPED Teacher, In-home ABA Technician or Lead Behaviorist preferred.
