We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a Category C male prison near Oakham.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. You will be working closely with the onsite Psychologist, offering vital support to your patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an everchanging, challenging environment, which is hugely rewarding! Hours: This is a full time role, hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Salary: This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £30,660 per annum - depending on experience. How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As our new Assistant Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
1. Working closely with the mental health team, as well as the wider healthcare team onsite
2. Support the psychological care of patients throughout their journey, from reception to release planning
3. Provide psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of the qualified psychologist
4. Work with people with complex needs, which can present / lead to challenging situations or behaviours
5. Work within the Assessment Care in Custody Teamwork (ACCT) process, and contribute towards the Challenge, Support and Intervention Plan (CSIP)
6. Monitor and provide feedback on the patients' function and general mental health condition during the course of intervention, reporting and changes to the mental health team
7. Carry out clinically related admin tasks, including audits, statistics and research projects

Our new Assistant Psychologist will:
19. Hold a Degree in Psychology
20. Although not essential, a Masters Degree would be beneficial
21. Have experience within an paid Assistant Psychologist role, whether in a prison, community setting, psychiatric environment
22. Be experienced in facilitating patient therapeutic groups, and delivering psychological assessment, formulation and intervention in the structure of an evidence based therapeutic model ( CBT / CFT / DBT)
23. Experience of working within a secure environment would be a bonus, although not essential
