Main duties of the job What you will do: Working within our Pathology team, you will assist in the provision of an efficient and smooth-running laboratory service. You will work in all areas of the laboratory as required, ensuring data entry, printing, distribution, telephone, and other office duties. Undertake laboratory waste disposal, cleaning, and other general laboratory duties. Provide effective, confidential, and comprehensive administrative support, ensuring that all activities are appropriately prioritised and actioned in a timely manner. Accessioning histology samples into the laboratory information system, working with colleagues in the clinics on-site and off-site. Occasional use of stairs may be required for this purpose. Ensure that samples meet acceptance criteria for testing and deal with any non-compliance in accordance with departmental protocols. Undertake occasional heavy lifting (up to 20 kg), including disposable waste or supplies. Ensure the efficient use of resources, maintaining stock levels as appropriate.
