Senior Control Systems Engineer - Central London - Fantastic Benefits - Hybrid - Competitive Salary Offered
We are currently working with a well-established international engineering design consultancy that is leading the way in sustainable design within the built environment and energy transition sector.
Due to several recent increases in workload, we are looking for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their growing team in Central London.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Support the production of designs and specifications for new build mechanical and electrical installations in many building types, particularly within complex technology-based buildings where close control and extensive monitoring systems are required.
2. Produce points lists for Control Systems.
3. Write Sequence of Operation documents from review of MEP designs and through discussion and agreement with design engineers.
4. Produce specifications from templates, software specification writing tools, and from fresh where necessary.
5. Produce plan drawings, schematics, network topology drawings, and control function diagrams as required to suit project needs.
6. Produce early stage reports for sign off by clients during the development of designs.
7. Review Contractor's engineering proposals for compliance with the design specifications and any relevant regulations.
8. Carry out condition surveys and reviews of existing installations. Produce reports and improvement plans.
9. Represent the Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and Contractor teams.
10. Specify and attend Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and Integrated Systems Tests.
11. Specify and attend commissioning activities during construction and completion of projects.
Role Requirements:
1. HNC/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
2. MCIBSE/MIEE/IMechE/MIET.
3. Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
4. Currently employed as a BMS/BEMS/Building Automation Consulting Engineer.
5. Experience of building automation, instrumentation, and monitoring systems.
6. Understanding of networks, network hardware, cabling, and network security.
7. Understanding and ability to support control system designs and report outputs.
8. Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports.
9. Experience of attending meetings to discuss relevant skillset.
10. Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
11. Ability to prioritise own workload.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Ability to work to deadlines.
14. Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
15. Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the group.
16. 5+ years' experience at Senior Engineer level or above.
17. Adaptable, proactive approach to engineering tasks.
18. Flexible and willing to travel as required to service international projects and clients.
19. Good presentation skills.
20. Familiar with multiple vendors' legacy and current products and keeps track of new and emerging products and technologies.
21. Support the commercial management of projects and fees.
22. Ability to work autonomously, as part of a wider team, and leading a team.
23. Good knowledge & working application of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
24. Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
25. Good working knowledge of leading control systems products, networks, and systems including those provided by Schneider, Siemens, and Trend.
26. Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC, and Technical Review perspective.
27. Good understanding of British and European Standards/UK Regulations/Codes.
28. An appreciation of ATEX regulations.
29. Background in consulting or construction preferred.
30. Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
