Our school wishes to source an outstanding support assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team. We are looking for someone who has experience working with children with SEND / SEMH needs.
The role will be part-time, 25 hours per week – Tues, Wed, Thurs 8-12, 12.30-3.30, Fri 8-12.
The role will involve working with a child with additional needs on a one-to-one basis. The main aspects of the role are:
1. To support one of our young learners to access a personalised curriculum and overcome barriers to learning.
2. To carry out programmes/interventions based on the young person’s individual targets.
3. To contribute to monitoring and recording pupil progress, compiling, maintaining records and providing relevant feedback to teachers.
4. To be adaptive to this young person’s developing needs.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have experience supporting learners with additional needs in a primary school setting.
2. Have experience & confidence in supporting children through a personalised curriculum under the direction of the class teacher.
3. Show resilience, be dedicated and reliable.
4. Be able to use your own initiative, be enthusiastic and have a strong work ethic.
