Scope of Role
The Service Engineer is a very responsible customer-facing role that requires a great deal of communication and technical ability, as well as a sound understanding of customer care and the systems operated by the company to perform the role. The Service Engineer is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of work allocated to them and reporting back as directed by company procedures that work has been completed satisfactorily and to the satisfaction of the customer and the company.
Compliance
1. Cooperating with and supporting the compliance management system and encouraging personnel to do the same.
2. Developing personnel awareness of product compliance obligations.
3. Actively participating in corrective actions from concerns or internal audits.
4. Ensuring that all personnel within their control are complying with the organisation's product compliance obligations, policies, processes, and procedures.
5. Integrating product compliance obligations into existing business practices and procedures in their area of responsibility and encouraging a compliance culture.
6. Encouraging their personnel to raise product compliance concerns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Obtain tasks using PDA software as provided and trained to use.
2. Advise line manager and scheduling department immediately if you have a problem getting to a job allocated to ensure customer is informed and advised why this event has occurred.
3. Ensure customers are contacted first thing with ETA and kept up to date of any delays.
4. Carry out a visual risk assessment on each job as required and raise any concerns with line manager.
5. Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task ensuring at all times parts are pre-paid when dealing with an end-user.
6. Deliver good customer service at all times and discuss with the customer on all recommendations onsite including service plans and upgrade options and note these on your report.
7. Carry out monthly stock takes on van stock or stock stored at lockups.
8. Carry out on-the-job training as directed by your line manager and partake in personal training courses as required.
9. Liaise with customers on site as required and keep them abreast of any issues/updates on their expectations and seek office involvement where additional unforeseen costs will require payment.
10. Ensure all company property and vehicles are maintained in line with company policy.
11. Report and carry out any other requests required of your line manager as may arise in the normal course of business.
Key Competencies
Essential:
1. Have at least 1 year electrical or mechanical engineering experience and be electrically competent.
2. Physically fit to do the required job. A medical may be required.
3. Hold a Clean Driving Licence and undertake a driving licence check.
4. Have some experience working in a similar role/environment.
5. IT literate, especially on MS products and preferably in the use of a PDA reporting system or service-based reporting package.
6. Proven ability to fault-find in a range of demanding environments.
Desirable:
1. Minimum 2 Years' Experience working in Wastewater/Water Industry.
2. Proven experience working with Sewage Treatment/Pump Stations required.
3. Experience in working in the sewerage treatment industry in a similar role.
4. Experience and understanding of our client and other manufacturers' Wastewater products.

Salary base £28k - £31k (Can go to £32k if they have experience).
