Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a large SEND School based in Sunderland. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have some knowledge and experience with working with young people, as well as previously gaining experience working in relevant roles. The school caters for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities from the ages of 11 to 19 years by providing them with daily support. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position. The successful candidate will have: Knowledge to conduct one-on-one or small group support with students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. The ability to assist with classroom activities, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to meet individual student's needs. Knowledge on monitoring and recording student progress, can report to teachers, and adapt support strategies when needed. Can assist with behavioural management, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment for all students.
