About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and reliable School Site Supervisor to join our team at a well-regarded school in the B14 postcode area of Birmingham. This is a crucial role to ensure the smooth running and upkeep of the school premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school site, ensuring that it remains a safe and conducive environment for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the general maintenance and repair of the school buildings and grounds
* Ensure the security of the school by locking/unlocking the premises as required and managing key control
* Supervise cleaning and site staff to ensure that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained across the school
* Manage health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations
* Coordinate and oversee the preparation of facilities for school events, meetings, and activities
* Perform regular checks on heating, lighting, and equipment, and report any faults or issues
* Liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance or repair works
* Ensure that emergency procedures are in place and staff are trained as required
* Assist with moving furniture and setting up rooms for different activities
* Support the school leadership team with any other site-related tasks as required
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role or in building maintenance or facilities management
* A good understanding of health and safety regulations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance
* Ability to handle physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions
* A proactive approach to problem-solving
* DBS clearance (to be undertaken upon appointment)
